Well, its been business as usual back at work these last couple of weeks. The new year’s break is fading day by day and here we are already in February! All I can say is, Where did January go?!?!
Caramba!
Anyway, the small set of photo’s in today’s post come from our recent trip up to Hawks Nest – about a two and half hour drive north of Sydney. We spent a week up there with friends recently and my skin has only just stopped peeling from getting a little too much sun (supervising the kids fishing; not sun-baking). I have to say, even for a cold loving, rainy day sort of a guy, it was really, really lovely up there. Most day’s were spent poolside, eating, drinking, reading and chatting. It was a tremendous way to relax and unwind before having to plunge back into teaching for another year.

Fantastically vivid pictures! Great composition, great exposure, and lovely sky! The last photo in black and white is great too!
And yeah, February huh? It will be March in a blink of an eye.
Kind regards,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments, Tieme. I’ve also become all too familiar with time passing faster the older I get. It’ll be easter before we know it 🙂

Too kind, Val. The trick to capturing beauty is…. actually, there’s no trick. You just have to put yourself in front of a beautiful scene and press a button 😉

My favorite photo is the last one with the footprints. Such a peaceful atmosphere. Love the softness in the background. Oh how I miss the warmth of the sun. Japanese winter is cold and brutal.

I suppose its always been easier to appreciate somewhere else rather than the place you live. I love the cold weather and really just count the days to when winter arrives here. I’ve never lived through a northern hemisphere winter though so I’m sure I just romanticise what it would be like. I do love Japan however and can’t wait to visit again.
Thanks for popping by too, Vincent. Appreciated.

Wonderful images Distan and I hope the sunburn/ peeling has ceased. By the way I particularly like the composition of the fourth shot along with the soft colours and leading lines.
