Christmas 2013: That’s a wrap!

distan bach-Christmas 2013-6

Whew, Christmas is over. Don’t get me wrong, I L-O-V-E Christmas. It’s my favourite time of year. The decorations, the carols, the food, family, the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree, the sweet scent of ripe mangoes and the warm fragrance of Gardenia’s from the garden – its a heady mix. This is what a summer Christmas in Australia is all about. Long days of sunshine, seafood, crisp wines (and/or beer) to quaff while the cricket plays on the television. Its truly a special time – especially when work is all over the year.

We had everyone over again this Christmas – our place seems the most convenient place to host the growing extended family. Downside is the post dinner clean-up but the great plus is that I don’t have to watch what I drink for fear of having to drive home. Cheers!

So, from me to you, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, where-ever you are in the world. Season’s greetings! Next stop…New Years!!

Looks like a wonderful time, Distance. It is all a bit exhausting, isn’t it!
    Happy New Year. : )

Oh yes, it can be a bit draining but that helps me enjoy the Boxing Day left-overs even more! :-).
Hope you and your fam had a great time and happy new year to you too!

I see you have a chocolate labradog ~ the best kind of Christmas decoration. I know one called Mango, who lives near Noosa. So how about some shots of the garden in the New Year? Now that midsummer has passed over, a Sydney garden can sometimes turn Autumnal before you know it … Do you still tinker with bonsai ?

    1. Distan Bach says:

Oh wow, hello Ms Prentice! So nice to hear from you. Hannah is a beautiful dog; I’m just so impressed with Labradors – they are wonderful animals with such great temperaments.
I have to say we don’t have much of a garden. It’s a little on the small size unfortunately so there’s not much to photograph. I still love bonsai but am yet to get back into it. You know; so much to too, so little time.
Hope you’ve been well and had a lovely Chrissy. Here’s to the new year!

& a very Happy Year of the Horse to you as well Mr Bach ! I fell down the rabbit hole of your blog a while ago, some Mardi Gras shots & thought I had commented ? I follow a few others on Word Press ~ mainly Sydney history for research purposes. We have a huge garden here in Katoomba & sometimes it’s a bit like animal wrangling ~ SO much to do. I still keep some bonsai & was lucky enough to see some amazing specimens in semi-rural China last year. I am now a great-aunt & about to go again ( announced on xmas eve ) ! So, 2013 has been one of the busiest of my life ~ when one’s little sister becomes a grandmother, it adds a whole new dimension to the term “update your status”.

Looks like a great day Distan, just the way Christmas should be. Merry Christmas, all the best for 2014.

Thank you, Leanne. Hope you and all your family had a wonderful time over Christmas as well. Have a great new year too.
