Event: Color Run, Centennial Park, Sydney

Colour throw!
Colour throw!

The Color Run is a 5 kilometre, un-timed race where participants are doused in coloured powder at each kilometre station throughout the course. According to their website, there’s only 2 rules to this fun-run. They are:

  1. You must wear white
  2. Finish plastered in colour

This year marked the second running of this event here and I’m sure its going to continue to grow judging by all the smiles at the end of the race. If you get the chance to see a ‘Color Run’ in your neck-of-the-woods and you  plan to take photo’s, I have one tip for you – take a plastic bag to cover your camera!  🙂

  6. Nice photos Distan. I have always wanted to shoot one of these events, but have been scared off after reading this article: http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2013/05/how-to-ruin-your-gear-in-5-minutes-without-water

Color Run is the only event where you get to party once you cross the finish line. The event is immensely popular all over the world and although runners do not receive any prizes, they are showered with colour run powder, which is made of corn starch. Color Run is not your typical fun run event because it puts more emphasis on fun.
