Southern point of Bondi

These are the long exposure shots taken on Saturaday morning when I was down at Bondi. As I said in the previous post, I had to walk around the point a little in order to find a spot that wasn’t too crowded with other photographers. Given that it was so bright, I was reasonably happy with how these photo’s turned out. I’ve spent a bit of time with them in post because straight-out-of-camera they were pretty washed out. I’ve added some vibrancy and saturation back in, recovered some highlights and also added a little sharpening to the foreground rocks. The 2-3 minute exposure times have left me with that silky/misty look on the water.

I couldn’t decide which of these shots I preferred. They are basically taken in roughly the same spot but with a different lens. Obviously, you can see that I’ve processed them quite differently too. I’m leaning towards the one above – I like to cooler tone of the reflection and that it can’t be fully seen. (Just quietly, I’ve processed it a bit better too).
